Stephen R. Spector is of Counsel to the firm of DIMIN ♦ FIERRO and has been practicing law with distinction for over 52 years, having been admitted to New Jersey Bar in 1968. His practice has involved real estate, both residential and commercial, as well as serving as counsel to the Borough of Elmwood early in his career, and then as General Counsel to the Board of Chosen Freeholders of Bergen County.
In the early 1990s, Mr. Spector represented a Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae lender as counsel to both multi-family and commercial properties regarding mortgages for both acquisition and refinance involving closings in multiple states.
Mr. Spector is an expert in both municipal and county law having been engaged in numerous litigations in support of these entities.
Since December of 1979 with the enactment by the State of New Jersey that permitted the creation and conversion of condominiums and cooperative apartments, Mr. Spector became a pioneer in this area of law. His expertise encompasses the creation, conversion and sale of multi-family residential and commercial properties to condominiums and cooperatives. He was simultaneously involved in assisting numerous Boards in the both the operation of, as well as litigation on behalf of, condominiums and cooperatives.
His decades of involvement in all aspects of real estate transactional work on behalf of buyers and sellers of commercial/multi-family residential properties has afforded him experience and expertise in multiple land use applications necessary to construct these properties.
Since September of 2019, Mr. Spector has been on Counsel to the new firm of DIMIN ♦ FIERRO , providing the firm with the legal knowledge and expertise he has garnered over his 52 years of practice.
